3 Mouth-Watering Fried Desserts You Won’t Be Able To Resist

Although the ideal is to eat healthy and watch your sugar intake, sometimes you need to reward yourself with treats without feeling guilty. While you’re at it, forget about cakes, chocolates, biscuits or ice cream for now and try something unique: fried desserts!

Try these easy-to-follow recipes and your sweet tooth will certainly thank you!

Chocolate and caramel fried bites

What you need :

2 whole chocolate bars, filled with caramel/nougat (like Snickers), refrigerated
2 cups of milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup maize flour
1 cup of vegetable oil
1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation:


In a shallow bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornmeal and baking soda, then gently add the milk to make a thin dough. The dough should still be able to adhere to the chocolate bars and not drip. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan at 350F. Dip the chocolate bars in the batter to coat them and then fry them for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting them into small pieces.

Cinnamon fried fruit tart

What you need :

1 package of frozen prepared pie shells, thawed and cut into 6 4-inch squares
1 1/2 cups dried apricots
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon icing sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation:


Put the apricot in a saucepan and add just enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until the apricots are tender, about 30 minutes. Set aside tablespoons of the liquid and discard the rest. Place the apricot and the reserved liquid in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add the white sugar, butter and cinnamon and pulse again until all the ingredients are well blended. Place 1 tablespoon of apricot mixture in each square of pie crust and fold each square diagonally in half. Press the edges with a fork to seal them. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet and cook the triangles until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.


Healthy fried plantains

What you need :

4 cups of oil for frying
2 ripe plantains
Brown sugar

Preparatio:


Peel the plantains, cut them in half and then cut each half lengthwise into fine pieces. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the plantain pieces until they are golden brown and tender. Place the fried plantains on paper towels and sprinkle with brown sugar before serving.
